Quests: Friday Night Fun

There was no CoP static this past Friday night, with Splinte away for the weekend, so the five of us opted for some questing and skillups.

Escort for Hire (Windurst)

First we talked to a Mithra in Port Windurst, and she told us about a rich Tarutaru who needed an escort through Garliage Citadel. We headed there and met him at the entrance. He ran somewhat willy-nilly through the corridors, with little heed for his own safety. Fortunately Elboron was able to get him to stand still long enough for us to clear his path, and to get Banishing Gate #1 open.

He only needed to get to one of the rooms back behind the Banishing Gate, so before we knew it, our services were no longer required, and we headed back to Windurst to collect our reward.

Trial by Lightning (mark two)

Next, we headed off to the Cloister of Storms to fight Ramuh once again. We quickly defeated him, with no deaths at all, Elboron's Lightning Carol and Wendell's Barthundra made us all resistant to his elemental attacks. This was the first time I went to an avatar fight as PLD/RDM, and it seemed to work pretty well. Stoneskin and Phalanx reduced the damage I took, and when I lost hate to Itera, it was easy to help keep him healthy.

I've now got whispers for Ramuh and Titan, and still need the avatars for Levithan and Ifrit, so there are (at least) 8 avatar fights between me and my moon bauble.

After we were done with Ramuh, we ran around in the Boyahda Tree killing crawlers for skillups, and had our NPCs out for some exercise as well. Wagwei hit 54, so I guess Balu-Falu is 54. I haven't been paying too much attention to the poor fellow lately. I still need to do that level 50-capped BC fight in Pso'Xja with him. I think Grym and I will do that when our BSTs hit 50.

My Pole of Trials seems to be broken. I would have thought I would have removed the latent long ago, but it's still there. The only thing I can think of is that Spirit Taker doesn't count as a weapon skill for removing latents. One of these years, I'll have it removed though, and can go fight the NM for Retribution.
