Events: Sunbreeze Festival 2006

This year's Azimuth II event, part of the Sunbreeze Festival, involves sending you and a partner to Tahrongi Canyon, La Thiene Plateau, or Konschtat Highlands, where you need to guide each other to various "Checkpoints" using a "compass" from the event moogle. At the correct checkpoint, you will find a doll. You trade the doll to your partner and then give the dolls to the event moogle back in town for your reward, a kimono that dispenses a stack of fireworks once a week.

Since Grym and Kiki didn't feel the need for yet-another rare/ex kimono, yet we wanted to do the event, we decided that Ohrly and Yarly should do it. This was their first chance to get a new outfit from an event too. The moogle sent us to Konschtat, with a very short sneak and invisible status. One of us did /heal to use the compass to direct the other to the proper checkpoint. For the first time through the event, we got compass directions, like Southeast, West, etc. We found out proper checkpoints, got our dolls, and used the gate glyph from the moogle to return to Windurst.

Ohrly and Yarly were pleased with their new outfits, and had fun playing with the fireworks, and decided we didn't really need to do the second round. We later learned that the second set of fireworks was actually more like a costume and you could use them while fighting, so we decided we must have these after all.

So Ohrly and Yarly were sent to Konschtat once again. This time the directions were distance - yalms, or paces. So giving directions was more like the old game of hot-and-cold. You're getting warmer - warmer - colder - warmer - hot! Both of them had one of three spots close together, with a couple goblins nearby. Yarly got her doll first safely, then Ohrly ran in and got her doll just as the goblin was killing her.

Then we decided this was the perfect opportunity for the twins to get all of their crag crystals, so we kept having the moogle send us out for the event until we got to all three zones and safely got our crystals. If they ever need to do some traveling, it will be useful to already have those.

Those fireworks were fun, I really should get off my duff and do this before it ends. It was a fun opportunity to play with the fireworks Yarly gave me though. Those two Taru's are just so darn cute!
