Quests: Double Dragonian (KSNM30)

Charcole's been keen to get his own pair of Destroyers for quite some time now, so he gathered a group of us together to see if we could defeat the two Dragons in the KSNM 30 Double Dragonian. The Destroyers are rare/ex and can drop in three different KSNMs, but the drop rate is thought to be best in this one. We had Charcole MNK/NIN, Itera MNK/WAR, Wendell WHM/BLM, Elboron BRD/WHM, Anastasia BLM/WHM and Kiki PLD/WAR.

We fought and killed the Berserker first, while Ana kept the Minstrel slept, with Elbo helping out. The Berserker went down pretty easily, but Itera pulled hate and went down himself. We kept getting all of our buffs dispelled, including food and juice. It made it harder to keep our MP up, since I was the only one with autorefresh, and +1mp / tick isn't a lot when you were expecting to have juice and double ballad on top of that.

Wendell gave Itera an R3 and we rested a bit, keeping the Minstrel asleep. I'd provoke and flash it when I could, to build my hate load as it slept. When it was time to fight it, we were surprised at how terribly hard he was hitting. We were all gravitied, the 100 damage from its thornsong spikes were painful (Elbo did a good job of using Finale, but has to wait to re-sing it), but it just plain hit like a truck.

I used Invincible, which bought us some time, as did Wendell's Benediction. Both Monks used 100 Fists at some point, but I can't recall which dragon they used it on. I got killed, and they tried to start kiting the Dragon, but it was hard with Gravity on. I think Itera was down next, then Elbo, and then Ana. It was down to Charcole and Wendell, and somehow they pulled it off. They were over a rise from me, and I couldn't see them, but I saw Charcole's HP drop, then jump up as Wendell's MP dropped casting a Cure IV. Then Charcole's HP was dropping again, and Wendell had just enough for one last Cure III. Wendell had 0 MP, Charcole didn't have enough HP to last too much longer, but he killed the dragon and the treasure box spawned. Hurray!

Charcole and Wendell ran back to the chest, looking a bit like Vana'diel Baywatch, in slow-motion while under the effect of gravity. Charcole popped the chest, and sadly didn't get his Destroyers, just a couple earrings and some dragon meat. However, we now have experience with the BC, and will gladly try again for him some time soon. Wendell and Itera have already got orbs to use for it, but we didn't want to try again on Monday with no two hours available.
