Quests: Secrets of Ovens Lost

Now that we have access to the Sacrarium, and have completed the Spice Gals quest, we have yet another weekly experience point scroll quest we can do: Secrets of Ovens Lost. The premise behind this quest is that a woman in the Tavnazian Safehold would like to prepare some of the traditional foods, but the recipes have been lost. They're hidden away in the bookshelves in the classrooms inside the Sacrarium.

We decided it was best to just try to sneak around in there, so after killing a few Orcs to clear our Fomor hate from our last mission in the Sacrarium, Grym and I headed there as WHM43/BLM22 and RDM/BLM (capped at 50) with our home point set in Tavnazia. We safely made it through the undead maze section and started checking the classrooms. There was no ??? in the south rooms, so we headed north. We had to pass two Stegotaurs to get to the other classrooms, which required being patient until they turned away and we could run behind them. No ??? there. OK, maybe we just missed it, so back through the maze to the south rooms. Nope, not here, north again. And repeat again a third time. As we were heading to the 6th room for the third time, I was convinced we were doing something wrong, but lo and behold, there it was! Fortunately the spot doesn't move as soon as someone checks it, so we both got our cookbook and warped back to talk to Jonette and get our reward.

On Sunday morning, we decided to do this a second time, after the reset at the conquest tally. Seems to be a popular thing to do - there were a dozen other players waiting for the reset so they could pick up the quest again. Running through the Sacrarium with a bunch of other people felt a bit safer, though we hadnn't had any problems the first time. The ??? wasn't in the first three classrooms, but as I was waiting for the first stegotaur to turn its back, one of the other people said "??? pop", so we ran back to the classroom, got our cookbook, and warped back for our reward.

The following week, we again had an easy time with the quest. We waited for the conquest tally, along with a handful of other people, then headed off to Sacrarium. A summoner had Carbuncle take care of a Stegotaur blocking the way, and the cookbook was in the first room. Hurray! The exp scroll put me over 10K exp at level 75, and I switched to limit points before heading out to exp that night.

It's definitely an easy scroll to get. Between this, the escort quest, and chocobo races, I could see just getting about a 10K buffer over 75 and then switching to limit points, since the scrolls should be plenty to maintain a good buffer. I had been thinking of getting a buffer around 35k, but that's 2.5 limit points right there, so maybe a small buffer isn't so bad.
