Quests: Operation Desert Swarm (Waughroon Shrine KSNM30)

On our server, there are several groups of high level Black Mages that set up KS30 runs on Operation Desert Swarm for the unwashed masses, and this can be a decent way for us shlubs to make a bit of gil from our Kindred Seals before we're capable of taking on any of the fights on our own. Kiki decided to join in on one recently, and after patiently waiting her turn and hearing of other people getting Venomous Claws or Damascus Ingots, the 4 BLMs (with a BRD that waited for them outside the BC) invited Kiki into their party.

Kiki traded her orb, and they went in. The BLMs used their highest -ga spells, brought all the scorpions down over to less than half their HP, cast Sleepga II on them, then blasted them again. Before Kiki knew it, it was over and she was standing by the crate waiting for the BLMs to exit back to the starting point before opening it. She got:

It wasn't the fortune she was hoping for, but after sending the BLM team their 40% cut, Kiki was left with around 880K, which wasn't enough to buy her 5.2 million gil Byrnie, and now with Christmas inflation, is even less towards an 11 million gil Byrnie. I'm glad it's something I merely want for her, rather than something that's felt to be absolutely "necessary". Kiki's another 55 Kindred Seals, so she'll definitely be trying her luck again soon.
