Quests: Behind the Smile

The other night, new mannequins safely installed in their moghouses, Grymalkyn, Elboron, and Tsakiki set out for the Tavnazian Safehold, where they heard they could get a quest, Behind the Smile, which would reward them with a pair of Mannequin Pumps. Kiki would have loved to have these boots when she was levelling RDM, but they will still be very useful for her.


The trio found Enaremand in the upper level of the Safehold, and learned that he needed some Red Oil. We headed to Mhaura to see if Fyi Chalmwoh had any, but she didn't. She thought we might be able to find some on an Orc, but was a little light on the details, like where this Orc might be. Fortunately we knew we were supposed to find a ??? in Carpenters' Landing, so we warped back to Windurst and used the Outpost Teleport to Jugner Forest (as PLD65/WAR32, THF65/NIN32, BRD65/WHM32).

We quickly found the spot in Carpenters' Landing, and after buffing up, Kiki examined the ??? spot. Bullheaded Grosvez appeared, and started throwing punches at Kiki. It took us a little longer to kill him than we would have thought for an NM on a quest that gets you a level 35 item, but he didn't really do much damage to us, mostly because he missed a lot. He did three shoulder tackles in a row, and then "paused to catch his breath". (I thought that was an odd message.) He did some move that reset hate (or Grym stole hate), and started using Hundred Fists on Grym, but we killed him with little trouble.

We examined the ??? again to get the Red Oil, and headed back to the Tavnazian Safehold to talk to Enaremand. We got quite a long cutscene that showed us some of Enaremand's sad story, and he rewarded us each with a pair of mannequin pumps!
