Notorious Monsters: Fyuu the Seabellow

Grymalkyn, Elboron and Kiki decided to head to Sea Serpent Grotto to see if they could find and kill Fyuu the Seabellow and get a pair of Frog Trousers for Elboron (best trousers for his Bard for some level capped events/areas). We figured we might get little bits of exp (very low easy prey) and chest keys while fighting the Sahagins in the area where Fyuu is known to appear. There were a couple of other people hanging around, hoping to get Frog Trousers for themselves, but they didn't seem quite as interested as us.

We learned the pattern of the placeholders, and ran off to look for chests when we got keys for Kiki and Elboron. Both Kiki and Elboron ended up getting their maps for Sea Serpent Grotto, but we didn't get a key for Grym this time. The two other adventurers ended up leaving the area, and when Fyuu the Seabellow finally appeared, he was all ours. It was a pretty easy fight, but we didn't get the trousers, just a clump of Pantam Kelp. I just don't understand why they didn't design the game so that any rare/exclusive item isn't a 100% drop. At least he spawns pretty frequently, and we know his pattern now, so we'll head back another time and try to get the trousers for Elboron.
