Beastmasters: Level 57

Still Can't Find a Camp

On our search for a place to level at 57, we went to look at Toraimarai again. We deemed ourselves still too low for that, and headed to Garliage. Kiki ran down to the basement to assess the situation (too many people), and managed to get aggroed and swarmed by 5 sets of Citadel Bats on the stairway out. /sigh We headed to the Labyrinth of Onzozo, where Kiki soloed a DC cockatice to get the few points she needed to get her level back, and then we headed to our camp from the previous day. However, it was occupied by a duo leveling NPCs, so we headed back to a now seemingly empty Garliage, but there was an anonymous BLM57/BST using the same pets/prey as we needed, as well as a party hunting coffer keys killing other potential prey.

We ended up trying to fight a few pots, but they were damaging us a lot more than the pots we'd fought in Fei'Yin and Pso'Xja, so we gave that up (turns out Spinning Attack is a frontal AOE, and we might have had better luck if we hadn't been on the same side of the pots as our pets).

Pso'Xja (Level 57 -> 58 )

We made the long trek to Beaucidine, and went back (inside) (blue bracelet) (building) in Pso'Xja and spent hours (over two days) charming bats and lizards and diremites, fighting lizards, diremites, pots, cryptonberries and gargoyles. There was a real treasure chest near us (Pso'Xja is filled with fake treasure chests, just waiting to eat unsuspecting treasure hunters), but unfortunately, we didn't get a single key in the 16K exp we gained there. Half of what we were fighting were key droppers too. Throat Stab was a little hard on our pets, but we took extra care to not pull hate when fighting the Cryptonberries so we weren't on the receiving end ourselves.

We left Pso'Xja at level 58, without a buffer, and ran to Windurst to get our Beast Jackcoats out of storage, then stood around admiring ourselves for awhile before getting ready for the Ninja Blues static on Saturday night.

It sounds like that mid 50's range is really difficult for BST camps... making it all the more helpful when someone goes /anon for no reason. Why do some BST do this? I remember Terry having a problem with this too.

It feels like every few levels we've had camp issues, but the mid-50s did seem worse. At least it's pretty easy to travel around!

Last week it seemed the worst /anon offenders were the ones going /BST. If you're going to go level your "normal" job using /BST in a known BST camp, you really should know better than to be /anon. The anon NIN/BST from the Oubliette is a BST75, so he has no excuse. If we'd seen him in there when we'd done our search, we would have left him in peace, knowing he'd be looking for the same pets and prey that we were hoping for.

I really love when people actually put in a search comment with their location and pet/prey, but I don't expect it. At the very least, just don't be anonymous!

Thanks! Yes, we love the fuzzy AF. It's not so great for fighting in, but we make sure we're wearing it when we're just running around.

The levels start to get long in the 50s, but if you have a duo buddy, they go pretty quickly.
